 n</h2>\n \n <p>Between 1816 & 1872 the Wey & Arun 
 Junction Canal formed the final link in a chain of
  inland waterways connecting London to the English
  Channel\; this walk introduces participants to th
 e northernmost section of the former canal and the
  railways (defunct or still operating) which took 
 its trade.</p>\n \n <p>A circular walk\, mostly se
 gregated from motor traffic\, beginning and ending
  at WACT’s Information Centre. The route includes 
 part of the alignment of the former Guildford-Hors
 ham railway line (Wey-South and Downs Link paths)<
 /p>\n \n <h2>​Any specific walk / conditions issue
 s</h2>\n \n <p>As the route is largely on footpath
 s\, towpath and footpath/cycleway which can be mud
 dy\, walking boots or stout walking shoes are esse
 ntial. The route includes a handful of short ascen
 ts and descents including a descent of approx.30 e
 arthen steps and an ascent of 14 steps.</p>\n \n <
