May Headlines

At the Spring Meeting Members were asked to forward this Newsletter to people they knew who might be interested in joining the Trust and would be willing to receive it.  We would find it very helpful if you could reply with a one liner giving the number of forwards you have made.  There is a  link below to the website giving a short summary of what the first fifty years restoration has achieved to inform potential new Members.

If you have been forwarded this newsletter and would like to subscribe to receive every month, click to sign up.

Working Party News

The Dredger Group have completed a detailed depth survey between Baldwin's Knob Lock and the Roger Dimmick Slipway. Several very low sections were identified. The area around the slipway has been cleared but there is still a great deal more to do.

Installation of out new pump control systems has been taking place and water levels can now be remotely monitored.   Volunteers have been busy completing the new housing structures and tidying up the lock areas where new cabling was installed.

Arun Rally

Our annual Wey and Arun Small Boat Rally is taking place this year on Sunday June 23rd on the upper stretches of the beautiful River Arun. We will launch from Pulborough at 14:15 or from the old bridge at Stopham at 14:45.  There will be a leisurely paddle through the stunning Sussex countryside up to the tidal limit at Pallingham  -  the entry-point into the Wey & Arun Canal system.

The rally is free to enter for all canoeists, kayakers, paddle-boarders and small boaters. For those who wish to make a voluntary contribution, marshals will have donation boxes and card machines. All donations will go towards restoring  'London's Lost Route to the Sea'.
