Bonfire Hanger Towpath

Work on laying the new towpath at Bonfire Hanger is now complete on the Surrey section (from Rosemary Lane to Gennets Sluice) but for some minor remedial work.  A further section to extend towards Gennets Lock is planned to be completed this month.  As you can see, it is already being enjoyed by some cyclists.  In all some 1000 metres have been restored thanks to grants from Waverley District Council and Alfold Parish Council.

A huge thank you to everyone from WACT and especially to our visiting volunteers for the excellent work they have done.  It will greatly enhance the experience of those walking (and cycling) the canal.

Cream Tea Trips

Cream Tea trips have been arranged for Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October.  The trips leave the Canal Centre at 2pm each of those days.

Santa Cruises in December are now open for booking.

Tickner's Depot has had some R&R and the compound an Autumn Clean.

Summer Wildlife

This wonderful photo of a Barn Swallow was taken by Barry Clough on 19th August at Loxwood.

All too soon they will be leaving us for their long journey South.
