Work has been completed to line a section of canal at Long Meadow to address leaks between Drungewick Slipway and Drungewick Lock.

This is the first phase of the work to restore navigation down to Drungewick Lock by next Spring and extend the Loxwood section for paddlers and boat trips.

Cream Tea trips have been arranged for Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October.  The trips leave the Canal Centre at 2pm each of those days.

Working Party News

The rather wet month has benefitted the flora if not the members of the Working Parties.  Flail mowers were required to cope with the lush grass from Toat Bridge towards Pallingham.

Despite the rain, the new Stop Plank Shelter at Drungewick has been completed and looks very smart.

Surrey Hills Wood Fair

We featured a 'Drive a Digger' stand at the Surrey Hills Wood Fair where numerous youngsters tried their hand on mini excavators  -  potential new recruits?

Our MDV team was also in attendance and were able to answer many questions from attendees on the work we do and our plans to continue our restoration work.  Roger also secured several donations in return for a log delivery !

Summer Wildlife

Dave Verrall took this photo of a magnificnt Magpie Moth near Lee Place Bridge.
