Supporting the Wey & Arun Canal Trust is one way to join in the Surrey Hills Enterprises’ ‘Buy 1 in 5’ campaign. The organisation, of which the Wey & Arun Canal Trust is a member, aims to support local enterprises and develop a thriving rural economy and as such is inviting people in Surrey to pledge their support to buy local this Christmas and help the local economy and environmental sustainability.
The organisation is encouraging individuals and families in Surrey to buy at least 1 in every 5 purchases from a Surrey Hills-based business this Christmas and has created a virtual artisan marketplace for businesses that businesses have been awarded the Surrey Hills trademark – a mark of quality, sustainability and local provenance.
Wey & Arun Canal Trust merchandise such as books, walking guides and calendars can also be bought from our online shop or from the Canal Centre at Loxwood which reopens this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am till 3pm.
