The first of this season’s boat cruises kicked off under blue skies and with full capacity last weekend.

Both Wiggonholt and Zachariah Keppel were called into action to run four special Mothering Sunday trips at midday, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 3.30pm in the perfect spring weather. Passengers were served either Danish pastries or a cream tea (provided by the Onslow Arms next door to the wharf) and demand was high with some trips selling out within days.

With 110 passengers throughout the day, the boat crew and Canal Centre staff were certainly kept busy and thanks go to all those who volunteered their time.

The season continues with a packed schedule of Easter trips. The 40-minute trips at 11.30am and 12.30pm will start on Wednesday 13th and continue on the 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th and 20th April. Ticket price includes tea or coffee with a Danish pastry for adults, Fruit Shoot and handmade iced shortbread for children, with free entry to our Easter Egg hunt starting and finishing from the Loxwood canal centre.

Four cruises ran over Mothering Sunday.

All trips sold out ahead of the day.

The tables were decorated with fresh cut flowers and looked splendid.
