In flagrant violation of government restrictions during the coronavirus outbreak, the Wey & Arun Canal Trust had a visitor to the Northern Office yesterday.
Even though the door was closed, he had obviously come in and made himself quite at home behind some boxes of logs.
The Chairman quite rightly insisted that he leave immediately, but he seemed reluctant, so after a quick photography session to make sure the culprit was on record it was quite forcibly suggested that he take his daily exercise in the middle of the canal (grass snakes are strong swimmers).
