On 27 September, at a ceremony in Birmingham, we were delighted to receive a Commended certificate in the Living Waterways Awards 2017. We entered Compasses Bridge in the ‘Community and Volunteering’ category as an outstanding example of what volunteers can achieve. This proved to be a very competitive category and we were not only up against other similar restoration projects; the category winner was a huge canal festival on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.
