Navigate to Civicrm → Events → Manage Events

CLONING AN EXISTING EVENT (e.g. the Annual Boat Rally) 

  • Search for the existing event by entering part of the name in “Event Name”, and click “Search by All or Date Range”, and click “Search”
  • Click More → Copy (and confirm prompt)
  • Edit details of the cloned event

Info & Settings tab

  • Pay particular attention to Event Title, Summary, Description Start & End Date & Time:
  • Save the Info & Settings tab when you've finished editing, and move on to Event Location:

Event Location

  • Often, you will be able to search for & use an existing location, otherwise create a new one, entering enough information for participants to find it.

Online Registration

If online registration is to be offered, click on this tab, and enter information such as [Registration] Start Date & End Date, and the various options for multiple participants, self-service cancellation etc. The default Profiles on the Registration screen should be ok, but you can change if required.

Usually you will want to send a Confirmation Email, so click “Yes” and enter the “From Name”, “From Email” etc.

Click <SAVE> to end the process (to abandon changes just click on another menu link and exit)
