Notice of our Annual Meeting 

AGENDA OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE WEY & ARUN CANAL TRUST LIMITED 17th October 2026 at 2.30 p.m. 

1. Apologies for absence. 

2. To receive and adopt the Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 18th October 2025. 

3. To receive the Chairman’s Report. 

4. To receive the Accounts and Balance Sheet for the year ending 31st December 2025, together with the Directors’ and Independent Examiner’s Reports. 

5. To appoint the Independent Examiners for 2026 and to authorise the Board of Directors to determine their remuneration. 

6. Election of Directors: a. Alan Johnson, Tony Coles and Tony Ford, in accordance with Article 30 of the Trust’s Articles of Association, retire and Alan Johnson, Tony Coles and Tony Ford are eligible for re-election. Mark Akers, who was appointed by the Board of Directors in the course of the last year under Article 33, retires and is eligible for election. b. Candidates nominated in accordance with section 30 of the Trust’s Articles. 

7. To receive a Report from W&A Enterprises Ltd. 

8. To transact any other business proper to an Annual General Meeting. 

9. Date of next meeting – date and venue to be confirmed. 

10. Close of formal meeting. 

11. Award of Jack King Cup and John East Trophy

1. Apologies for absence should be sent to the WACT Office (support@weyarun.org.uk) before the start of the meeting. 

2. Copies of the previous (2025) Minutes will be available at the meeting. If you would like a copy in advance, please contact the WACT Office (support@weyarun.org.uk). 

3. Copies of the Report and Accounts will be available on our website and at the meeting. If you would like a hard copy in advance, please contact the WACT Office (support@weyarun.org.uk). 

4. We warmly welcome new candidates for election as Directors. The formal requirements are set out in Article 31. In summary: a. A paid-up member may propose in writing a candidate for election and the candidate must sign the proposal to indicate willingness to be appointed. b. The proposal must reach the WACT Office (support@weyarun.org.uk) at least 14 clear days before the meeting – that is, by Friday 2nd October 2026 (the WACT Office has a proposal form although you are not obliged to use it). 

5. All members have the right to appoint a proxy under section 324 of the Companies Act 2006 and Article 20 of our Articles of Association
