We are pleased to be able to run public boat trips on the Wey & Arun Canal at Loxwood although we are still operating with limited seat numbers in line with Government guidance.

We hope that you will take the opportunity to join us and perhaps take some refreshment in the Onslow Arms next door either before or after a trip.

Because of the pandemic there are a number of points we would wish to draw to your attention. Please read through these and make sure you are happy with the provision before booking

1. We have undertaken a detailed risk assessment of our operating procedures as a result of the Covid-19 virus and in order to comply with government guidelines and minimise the risk of spreading the infection for both our passengers and crew. We are therefore operating with some variation to our normal procedures.

2. Nobody should enter the boat if they are feeling unwell for any reason and particularly if you have (or have had in the last 7 days) any of the published Covid -19 symptoms including raised body temperature, new cough, loss of taste or smell. If you have been advised by the NHS to self-isolate or if you have underlying health conditions which put you at greater risk of Covid 19 infection then you also should not travel on the boat.

3. We are operating with far few passengers in order to promote a safe environment. The tables and chairs have been arranged so that households (including social bubbles) can sit together.

4. We ask everyone to book and pay online. There may be a few seats available on the day which can be booked in the canal centre.

5. The companion way (Entrance) to the boat, window table and chairs will be sanitised between each trip.

6. Before boarding we will ask that one member of your group provides their name and contact details should we need to contact you after the trip under the NHS track and trace system. These details will be held securely and subject to our privacy policy for a minimum of 21 days and a maximum of 30 days and then destroyed. They will not be used for any marketing purposes or passed to any 3rd party unless we are required to do so under the Government/NHS track and trace policy. We ask that if anybody becomes unwell in the 14 days after the trip you contact us so that we can implement track and trace and if our crew become unwell we will contact you.

7. Face Coverings. All passengers are requested to wear face masks while boarding the boat and moving around inside. Once seated the masks can be removed.

8. Immediately prior to boarding please use the alcohol-based hand sanitiser provided.

9. Weather permitting the crew will have opened the windows to increase ventilation. The bow doors may remain open but passengers will not be allowed outside to enable distancing with the crew to be maintained.

10. An emergency briefing will be given by the skipper before each trip departs together with any precautions needed to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection.

11. Toilet facilities are available on the Wiggonholt and Zachariah Keppel boats and the wheelchair lift is available on Wiggonholt trips.

12. Boarding will be by table row bow first. Disembarkation will be in reverse order i.e. stern first.

13. Complimentary tea and coffee are usually available on each of the public trips at each table with a soft drink for children.
