The Canal Centre at Loxwood will open its doors once more this weekend.

The centre has been closed due to the coronavirus pandemic but with screens fitted and health and safety procedures in place is now set to welcome visitors on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Opening hours will be 11am till 3pm.

Volunteers will be on hand to offer information on the canal's history and its restoration story, as well as sell merchandise such as walking guides and maps.

Canal Centre manager Lyn Nash said: "We are really excited to be able to reopen and help visitors make the most of their time along the canal. With so many people having discovered the beauty of the Wey & Arun Canal during lockdown, it will be good to tell them more about our future plans and recommend other parts of the canal for them to enjoy."
